Academy Restaurant, Belfast.
Academy in Belfast showcases the culinary & hospitality talents of the Ulster University’s students in a venue which oozes class. We chose the Pearl Barley, Asparagus & Pea Risotto, Keenan’s Seafood Linguine, & a Goat’s Cheese Salad to start. Our Mains were Chicken Escalope, Battered Monkfish Scampi, & Spiced Chickpea Stew. And the desserts are not to be missed; Mixed Berry Pavlova, zingy Lemon Posset, & Caramelised Banana Bread.

Revolución de Cuba, Belfast.
Revolución de Cuba serves food & drink in a relaxed Havana-inspired space, & you can order any three dishes from the Tapas Menu for only £15, & add a Margarita or Paloma for just £5. We went for the Gambas Pil Pil, the Calamari, some Charred Halloumi, smoky Patatas Bravas, Birria Tacos, & the Loaded Nachos with meat-free three bean chilli.

About 15 minutes from the City Centre, Crowne Plaza is perfect for couples’ retreats, family breaks, or business trips. We were staying in a spacious, beautifully furnished room; contemporary in style with tastefully chosen artwork. The River Bar Bistro & Lounge is a great setting for stylish all-day dining, & the art-deco style lobby is the ideal meeting place. Also, BodySpa is a mini spa with exclusive TEMPLESPA products, & the Bodyscape Health Club is home to Belfast’s only 20m hotel swimming pool, with a sauna & steam room.

We had the pleasure of attending The Northern Ireland Food To Go Association launch of The NI Food To Go Awards 2026 at the Malmaison Hotel in Belfast.

Building on the outstanding success of last year’s awards, which celebrated the impressive achievements within the food-to-go sector throughout the province, 2026 will be even bigger and more dynamic!

Proudly sponsored by Henderson Foodservice, the event brought together industry leaders, elected representatives, and prominent local figures.

Following last year’s tremendous success, where exceptional accomplishments were honoured within the food-to-go sector nationwide, the third NI Food to Go Awards returns for 2026.

Tracy Kelly, Belfast Lord Mayor, and Diana Armstrong MLA, Chair of the Food-To-Go APG, spoke, followed by a Q&A session hosted by Q Radio’s Ibe Sesay with Michael Henderson, Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Food To Go Association and Kiera Campbell, Chairperson of the Northern Ireland Food-To-Go Association & Director at Henderson Foodservice. We also heard from Paul Doherty from Foodstock, and we were entertained by singer KoosKoos.

This exclusive launch event acknowledged and united a select group of key individuals, businesses, and stakeholders who continue to develop the Food To Go Industry throughout Northern Ireland. What a fantastic opportunity to connect and strengthen both existing and new relationships.

From the moment you walk in, it just works — cosy but spacious, stylish but still super inviting. Easily one of the prettiest cocktail bars in town 💖🍸

The new menu is seriously impressive 👨‍🍳🔥 We tried a few bits and everything delivered: the salads were super fresh 🥗, the scampi is an absolute MUST (soooo good with the lemon mayo) 🦐✨, the chicken parm was seriously tasty 🍗🧀, and the beef bourguignon was just lovely — rich, comforting, and full of flavour! 🍷🤎

👀 I also spied some light bites on their menu that sounds insanely good - so I’ll be heading back asap for those! Don’t skip their desserts either - their sticky toffee pudding in particular 🤌🏼 Chefs Kiss!

And the cocktails? Next level 🍹😍 They look incredible, taste even better. If you like margaritas, you HAVE to try the “Margo’s Kiss” 💋 — genuinely one of the best cocktails I’ve had in Belfast or possibly EVER.

Staff are brilliant too 🌸 — really friendly, attentive, and make the whole experience even better.

And when the sun shows up in Belfast ☀️, the outdoor seating area is gorgeous 🌿 perfect for a chilled drink, some wine 🍷, and soaking it all in.

Honestly… add it to your list immediately! ✨

Today for lunch, my older sister @kylaactuallyreads and I went out for lunch @neighbourhood.cafe.

Neighbour cafe is located at the Cathedral Quarter Belfast on Donegall street in Belfast City Centre.
Founded in 2021, Neighbour cafe offers you a fantastic lunch menu with locally sourced Irish ingredients and a brilliant hot and cold drinks menu.

Neighbour cafe has a welcoming atmosphere and a very cosy vibe. The sitting was very comfortable. The queue was out the door and going down the street.

I got myself the whipped avo toast. Whipped avocado & ricotta on a massive toasted sourdough slice. Topped off with habonero hot honey and chopped pistachios.
It was absolutely fantastic!!! The whipped avocado was incredible and tasted unreal.

My sister got the Neighbour Bagel. An everything bagel filled with a homemade sausage patty, folded scrambled eggs, a hash brown, cheese, hot sauce & their homemade in house sauce. She said that she absolutely loved it and can't wait to have another.

Are drinks were a skinny Latte for her and a classic hot chocolate for myself. My hot chocolate was lovely.

The staff were absolutely lovely and very, very friendly & extremely welcoming.

Overall our experience with @neighbourhood.cafe was absolutely fantastic. Great drinks, great food and lovely staff.
My rating? 9.5/10
Vegetarian/vegan? ✅️ plenty of options for everyone.

Can't wait for our next visit!!
